FAB Professionals - Expedited Exam Processing

EXPEDITED EXAM PROCESSING

In order to accelerate the application review process, student members should fax a copy of their completed exam application and check to FAB Professionals at (850) 580-4067 for verification after 900 hours of instruction (this will further expedite the approval process). The complete application containing original documents should be mailed to FAB Professionals after the student completes their 1200 hours of instruction. Please include the following items in the application packet:

Completed Student Membership Application for FAB Professionals and $50 membership fee (if not already a member of FAB)
$53 check* made payable to “FAB Professionals” (this enables us to pay your fee online through the Department of Business and Professional Regulation)
Certificate of completion of HIV/AIDS Course (name on certificate should match name exactly as it appears on application) – see info. below
Completed DBPR Application

· Form DBPR 0010 – Master Individual Application Form

· Form DBPR 4401 – Cosmetology Examination Application Form

Since FAB often utilizes DBPR's online processing portal, it is very common for applicants to receive "deficiency letters" requesting the HIV certificate and original school signatures. This is a result of the lag time between when the physical application gets married to the online application. Please do not be alarmed if you receive one of these letters. Rest assured, your complete application has been properly delivered to DBPR and is awaiting final approval.

Our average processing time is 17-22 business days from the point of delivery to DBPR (once all required items have been received and reviewed). Although DBPR works very hard to process each FAB application within 30 business days, this is not a guarantee and our service is dependent upon functions within DBPR that are beyond our control.

Once verification is complete, FAB Professionals will hand-deliver your application to DBPR on your behalf and will follow its progress through the application process. FAB Professionals will notify you upon approval and provide further instructions for obtaining an exam date.

HIV/AIDS Awareness Education Course

FAB Professionals offers an online HIV/AIDS Course which satisfies the 4-hour HIV/AIDS requirement. Visit our website www.fabprofessionals.org to study and take the test online. The 4-Hour HIV/AIDS Course is only $15 for members.

When registering to take the online test please be sure to type your name exactly as you want it to appear on your Certificate of Completion. (The name on your Certificate of Completion should match exactly the name on all of your DBPR Exam Application Forms.)
